Does this connect directly to a speaker? If so, would it be possible to add a headphone jack to this circuit either on a daughterboard or modifying this corcuit1?
Hi Andres,
Probably not. The MPF102 is a FET whereas the MPSA13 is a Bipolar. But you can likely replace it with a 2N5457 or a J201, both of which are quite common in these DIY circles.
Can I use a mpsa13 instead of the mpf102?
Great little practice amp. Kudos to you
I have built two of these so far (using this layout), such a cool little amp 🙂
It’s from beavisaudio, but I’m not sure whether it’s the Mk2. I did this layout two years ago or something like that.
As for the thumbnail, it’s auto-generated when I first upload an image. I have since changed/updated the layout manually, but the thumbnail always stays the same. It should be correct if you can make out what it says.
hey Harald, is this the mk2 version from beavis’s site? Also, the thumbnail shown here differs from the larger version – the thumbnail shows switches, yet these are not in the larger one. are the switches stll valid? cheers, drsoda
